Pegasus by Pickleweasel360 Pegasus by Pickleweasel360
I wish to submit this to :iconamigurumi-challenge: to enter the Fantasy Contest.

I was able to save my white set of wings with bleach so I was able to use them on this piece. The sun was really killing my pictures so this is the best one I had. The top of this wing is actually folded like the other one you just cant tell. Even though this design wont be used again, its good enough for me since I will be keeping this Pegasus too.

Colors based on the Pegasus in Hercules. I thought about gold mane/tail but I just love these better. I realize his eye looks kinda wierd, its just the angle. Anywhoo, here he is :) now to get back to work on my other projects.

EDIT: You can get the basic horse pattern now on my Etsy page. Foals can also be bought on the same listing: www.etsy.com/listing/162311822… ***It does not include how to make the wings.

When I make them stand on two legs I use safety pins to help them stay upright like a tripod. Kickstand by Pickleweasel360

My only suggestion would be to move the wings up on the back, closer to the shoulders. It looks a little awkward/unnatural right now to me. Also, thicker wings would look better too, like you mentioned earlier. But other than that this is a really amazing piece! I really love the mane and tail!

Someone already mentioned it but every time I look at it I do notice how far down it looks. I think I scooted them down so the mane could be seen. It would have looked like the mane only went half way down. He does need better wings but since he is just for me I used one of the first sets I made. Eventually I'm going to loop around and rework on the design :)

Thank you so much! :hug: I love that you hold contests especially for knitting/crochet. I want to enter things to contests I see around DeviantART but they are always for drawing. There should be more people like you, cuz you are awesome :)

Hey, that's really cool! I've never seen anything wrong with your work until now, and I'm not sure this should even be considered wrong, because this is just so amazazing (yes, I mean a-ma-za-zing), but might I suggest the wings on such creatures being placed a bit higher, above the shoulders? It tends to be a bit more anatomically correct, and also helps with visual balance. So sorry for going on, this is a wonderful piece! ^^;

Thank you so much! :hug: Its ok constructive critiques are good. They actually line up with the front of the legs but it doesn't look like it much in this picture. They really could go up a few more rows though I was mostly just worried about getting everything finished in time for the contest. I will move them up if I make any more :) Thank you!

My usual heads have the shaping for the forehead, but with these I knew I wanted to try to get that large jaw bone of the horse. Its suprisingly similar to the head I used for Haku.
