One of a Kind by Pickleweasel360 One of a Kind by Pickleweasel360
Playing with Bristol paper and 2h-8b pencils. Used Bristol vellum, because the smooth felt like a milk jug.

This is the drawing of my dads car. Scanner really killed it so I had to blur it so it wouldnt look like I did this in Pointalism. Anyway definatly the longest one I ever did. Probably 20+ hours. To be fair though I drew-crumpled-redrew this 3 times before I got this one. Note to self do not expiriment with new paper/...pencils when you have a deadline. It was a learning expirience, I will know what to next time. I am happy with it I suppose. Wish I hadn't rushed to finish the bumper and grill, my chrome is a bit lacking. Oh well, he loved it. :)

Yep :) Before I got obsessed with crochet this was my talent of choice. I drew it for my dad for Christmas a few years ago. I just realized the other day that I haven't drawn anything(besides doodles) really good in over 2 years. There is a picture of which car I based it on in my gallery.

Cool!
I like the composition with the car filling the picture plane at an interesting angle.
Your proportions look good, and you did a fine job on the foreshortening. You did a really good job of capturing the lines and character of the car.
You have a good range of values here. And good use of value changes to show the planes and contours of the body.
It's a good piece of work!

Thank you! I bought a 2H - 8B value pencil set and tried this on Bristol paper. I learned a lot with this piece, about the paper and how I shade. I used values instead of lines to show detail, which was fun!
I took out a building that was in the reflection of the car because I didn't like it, so the shadows could have been better. I tr to take a picture at an angle I would like to draw, but next time I will focus on the scenery before I take the picture so the bad reflections wont be an issue.
I think this is my best piece so far and I'd like to thank you for giving me good advice. You have commented on my other pieces and you have helped me to branch out and try new things, this piece included!
