Haku ...ish by Pickleweasel360 Haku ...ish by Pickleweasel360
~~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT: These are now $80
~~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT: You can find the pattern here: www.etsy.com/listing/115904240…

Well, this is what came of my first dragon attempt. I hate the legs they are way to thick and long for him. Posing him in this way also made the thickness of the legs protrude even more. I tried to pose him like a scene from the movie. popcultureplaypen.files.wordpr… The whiskers are way too long but the person who commissioned it wanted them that way. She likes the legs even if I don't. She also asked if I could leave the belly patch out so I did.

I have already redesigned this complete pattern for a better leg design. I like the toes except they are way too small for me to wire, which sucks I need to work on that. I'm beginning to like the little wedge ears, I will include them more in my designs.

Commissioned by :iconchuck-and-june: June wanted a Haku-like dragon and so this is the result. Chuck is the one who the 'Fever' deer .pickleweasel360.deviantart.co… was made for based on his character.

ALSO: I'm adding this to say he is crocheted. A few of you have asked if he is made from pipe cleaners. Only his whiskers and horns are made from pipe cleaners. He is 28 inches long and has a wire skeleton running through him so he is poseable.

In 9 hours this piece went from 131 favs and 1200 views to 3,000 favs and 21,800 views.

:icontakemymoneyplz: This dragon sold for $100. I know it is a lot but they take a long time to make and a lot of details go into making him. This one took 3 days to make. If you would like one, in any colors, send me a note please!

SO MANY FEELINGS!

Where on earth did you get blue fur?

Its not blue fur. Its blue yarn that I brushed with a wire brush to make it fluffy.

Oh. It looks really good. The local fabric store doesn't have the colors Im looking for, unless there's a way I can dye white fur. But I was told I cant.

This is so amazing.

Please don't ever denigrate your own work. Also, don't point out what you see as errors. What I see is amazing and didn't see or wouldn't have known about any problems. Also, $100 is not a lot to charge for something like this! People have to realize that just because something is home/hand made, it is valuable. In my mind something home made is MORE valuable than factory made. Those of us who are creative need to educate people on what our work is worth.

Keep it up! You have talent!

Thank you so much! :hug: It means a lot coming from someone who crochets as well since they know how long these things take. I've lowered the price since then but still no one else commissioned it. I'm seeing how many people would like the pattern right now to see if its worth releasing. I just saw your Dr. Who piece and I was like awesome! I've never seen the show but you really captured the Dalek. That is definatly worth 100 too if you sold it.

Thanks for liking my Dalek. I did use a free online pattern but altered it quite a bit so it was shaped more like the character. I also used a much smaller yarn.

You have a good idea about possibly selling the pattern. I've seen a lot of patterns and have bought a few that were posted on Etsy. People who crochet would be more likely to buy a pattern rather than the finished product. Good luck!

Are you selling the pattern by any chance, or do you only sell the finished product? This looks amazing and I would love to have one.
