Y'arrrr this be me entry for ye ol Pirate contest at

Her name is now Pirate Penny suggested by

which is awesome because my name is Jenny.
Here is my second crochet human, now in pirate form

This ones a little bigger than Issun was and has some features worked into it like the puffy pirate sleeves. I was going to give her yarn hair but it was so bulky and ended up being bigger than she was. So I cut it off and made it out of felt. She has a red bandana on even though it looks a bit like a square hat or something from this angle. The beads are stranded on a piece of yarn then sewn under the hair to look like a small beaded braid. I wanted her to be standing on something so I made a barrel. I had a wooden one but I couldn't find it haha. For her sword I used one of my quilt needles. I painted the skull onto the flag but I didn't have room for the two bones (I was going to make them crochet hooks anyway). I really like the background also. I took this early this morning it was still frosty. The light was barely peeking through the trees to the right of me so it gave a neat look to the poster board I took this on. Well, here she is, hope you like her! Contest ends Monday I believe so I hope people enter!
I apologize that I haven't put it to use yet. I will though!
Good luck with the contest!
Thank you so much! I think the little braid might be my favorite part.
So far no one else has entered. I hope people do I like supporting small group contests like that.
